Philosophy of Education

The promotion and development of a Biblical Worldview is essential to the families that partner with RCA to educate their children to become well-rounded individuals.   The goal to introduce students and ultimately their families to Christ is met through spiritual training which takes place on a daily basis both in the classroom most days and during a chapel service weekly.  Christian character development is vitally important for RCA students as they interact and impact the lives of others.  RCA students accomplish academic excellence in their studies, and are challenged through the advanced academic program at RCA.

RCA students gain an understanding of their spiritual needs from the Word of God.  Bible classes ultimately address the importance of repentance, a relationship with Jesus Christ, loving their neighbors, and living their lives to bring glory to God.  Students are also taught Bible Stories, how to pray, and how to talk to others about God.  RCA students gain a Biblical Worldview as they gain knowledge supported by Biblical truths found in the curriculum.  The curriculum, both Abeka and Bob Jones provides practical Biblical references & scriptures where applicable in each subject taught.

The curriculum used by RCA is designed to give students the foundation needed for their future ongoing education.  RCA chooses a curriculum that’s academically sound, meaning that it is based upon truth, rather than prejudice or biased points of view.  The goal of the curriculum used at RCA is to accomplish mastery of the subjects taught as student’s practice and develop skills suitable for each grade level.  Additionally, the curriculum equips students to think critically, study effectively, articulate ideas from a variety of subject areas, while training students to utilize current technology.

Character development is accomplished through service opportunities and by example to develop the Fruit of the Spirit, compassion, charity, respect, and to honor those in authority.  Some examples where students provide service are through the RCA Honor Society and Student Council.   The 5th and 6th grade students have the opportunity to become safety patrols to assist students and staff with arrival and dismissal of students on a daily basis.  RCA families are given the opportunity to donate items for a food pantry, to provide food and gifts to those that are struggling during the holidays, and other collections have taken place when needs arise.

The RCA administration and teaching staff are Godly, well-trained professionals that provide a loving, nurturing, exciting educational school environment that motivates the children toward academic success.  Academic accountability is provided for our families with either online classroom posts, or with weekly agendas that parents view daily.  The RCA staff value and understand the need for clear communication with our families as we partner together to educate the children.   We will do our best to keep families informed of our mission and goals as we accomplish the vision of the school, which is the overall growth of each individual as he/she becomes a Godly, confident, well-educated person.
